Each rule in Automation Toolbox is based on one of the following trigger types.
For the rule to execute, the conditions configured for a chosen trigger must be met.
The following triggers are provided by Automation Toolbox:
Field Changed Event
The Field Changed Event Trigger executes a rule when the specified field is updated, and the changes correspond with the associated options.
The field to be evaluated can be chosen from most system and custom fields in the Jira instance. Start typing the field name for quicker selection.
Depending on the field type, the trigger has 3 or 4 "Changed to" configuration options as depicted in the following screenshot.
The Issue Event trigger executes a rule whenever the specified issue event occurs.
Issue Transitioned Event
The Issue Transitioned Event trigger executes a rule whenever an issue is transitioned through the workflow. Each workflow event triggers this rule!
The rule is triggered every time a particluar project events occurs.
You can limit the scope of the trigger by choosing one or multiple projects directly upon choosing this trigger.
The Scheduled Rule trigger will start execution of the rule whenever the configured schedule options are met.
There are a number of scheduling options to choose from or you can define your own custom schedule using a Cron Expression.
Scheduled rules can be used for any number of regular maintenance, escalation or one off "fix it" jobs.
The System Event trigger will start execution of a rule whenever the chosen system event occurs.
