JWT for Jira Cloud is offered as free app on the Atlassian Marketplace and will be free for a while. Regardless, we will constantly strive to We constantly improve the app and add new features.
To be as transparent as possible about what's happening around the app we decided to share an overview of our product roadmap with you.

Writing support for custom fields
COMING IN EARLY 2020 Currently, information stored in Jira custom fields can be accessed in post functions but it is not possible to edit those fields.
Support of JWT expression parser functions
We will continuously implement parser functions known from the Server/DC version to the product so the JWT expression parser provides all the functionality you need to read, manipulate and filter data from Jira issues, users, groups, projects and more.
