Introduction

The Update fields post function automatically updates a single or multiple issue fields on a target issue.

Additional field values can be taken over or manually set using parser expressions. 



Remark

In this documentation and the post function configuration you will notice the symbol ( * ) next to some parameters, it means that this field is mandatory and shall not be left empty. Fields without the symbol are optional.

Basic configuration*

Below you will find a detailed description of each parameter of the basic configuration of the function.

Target issue*

Choose the issue to be updated and the following options are available:

  • Current issue
  • Parent issue
  • Sub-tasks
  • Sibling sub-tasks
  • Linked issues
  • Linked epic
  • Issues under epic
  • Sibling issues under epic
  • Set target issue manually (parser expression)

    (info) the output has to be an issue key

  • Sibling sub-tasks

Comment visibility

Choose the users you want to give permission to see the comment, you have the following options:

  • Unrestricted (all users)
  • Restricted to project role
  • Restricted to group

Additional options

You have the option to send email notifications according to the associated notification scheme.

Conditional execution

Enter a condition (Boolean condition) using the JWT expression parser - full feature list syntax.

You can even logically link and gather conditions in expressions as you like in order to map more complex conditions.

The post function will only be executed if the condition is met (returns true .).

Run as

Choose which user you want to give permission to execute this post function. By default it is set to the Current user.
