Assign issue to the last assignee on transition

Use case

When an issue is transitioned to "Draft" status, the issue will be assigned to the last assignee from the project role "Developers".

Create a new rule and name it appropriately.

Providing a description will help you to identify what the rule does but this step is optional.

Add a trigger and choose the Issue Transitioned Event.

No further configuration needed. The automation rule is triggered every time an issue is being created.

Expression*

Use the following parser expression

%{trigger.issue.status} = "Draft"

and click on Add

Next to the Boolean condition click on Add → Action → Assign Issue

Choose User in Project Role as an Assignee*

Choose Developers as Project role

Click on add, and then activate the rule by clicking on the activate rule button →
