Use case

When a parent issue is rejected, all sub-tasks are transitioned to REJECT accordingly.

Issue Transitioned Event

Create a new rule and name it appropriately.

Providing a description will help you to identify what the rule does but this step is optional.

Add a trigger and choose the Issue Transitioned Event.

No further configuration needed. The automation rule is triggered every time an issue is being transitioned.

Boolean Condition

Add a ConditionBoolean Condition

Expression*

Use the following parser expression:

%{trigger.issue.status} = "Rejected"

Boolean expressions are logical constructions that return true or false .
In this use case, the expression will only return true if the status of the issue triggering the rule is REJECT.

Issue Selector

Add Selector → Issue Selector

Target Issue(s)*: Sub-tasks

Transition Issue

Add Action → Transition Issue

Mode*: Execute transition

Choose your project

Choose Close issue

Activate the rule by clicking on the Activate rule button
