The Issue Event trigger executes a rule whenever a specified issue event occurs.

Issue Event configuration

Simply select one of the existing Jira issue events. The rule will be executed when that event is being picked up by the automation rule.

No further configuration is needed at this point.

A typical list (which may vary by Jira instance) will look like the one below:

List of typical Jira issue events
  • Generic Event (System)
  • Issue Archived (System)
  • Issue Assigned (System)
  • Issue Closed (System)
  • Issue Comment Deleted (System)
  • Issue Comment Edited (System)
  • Issue Commented (System)
  • Issue Created (System)
  • Issue Deleted (System)
  • Issue Moved (System)
  • Issue Reopened (System)
  • Issue Resolved (System)
  • Issue Restored (System)
  • Issue Updated (System)
  • Issue Worklog Deleted (System)
  • Issue Worklog Updated (System)
  • Work Logged On Issue (System)
  • Work Started On Issue (System)
  • Work Stopped On Issue (System)

The rule will be executed when that event is being picked up by the automation rule.

It is highly recommended to limit the execution of the rule using automation conditions (e.g. to limit execution to a single project).
